FAA Human Factors Guide

The Challenge: Update content for the original (paper version) of the FAA Human Factors Guide, develop an interaction and graphical framework for a new guide and implement it as a web-based document.

The Approach:

• Consult with the FAA to determine which content to add, modify, and delete
• Develop a unitary graphical and interaction framework
• Write or modify the human factors content for six chapters
• Develop information graphics for all chapters
• Develop and deploy a website for the HF Guide

The Result: The HF Guide was posted to the FAA website in September 2008. Each chapter is available as a PDF download in addition to being a fully-enabled web document. The overall HF Guide is fully searchable and includes customized quick navigation links designed by HumanCentric.
