Kodak Photobook

These are the Moments

The Challenge: Identify the strengths and weaknesses of two Kodak photobook software applications.

The Approach:

  • Conduct a heuristic evaluation of Kodak and competing products
  • Conduct an take-home evaluation of products, with users installing the software and creating their own photobooks
  • Follow-up with an in-lab evaluation involving structured tasks and discussion
  • Using the data from the heuristic evaluations and user studies, reveal the pros and cons of each product
  • Provide design recommendations

The Result: A summary of best practices in the design of photobook software, areas that cause users difficulty across many applications and frequently-requested features. Kodak used the results to understand their competition and guide their development efforts for the next generation of photobook applications.
