Michael Clamann has been a Human Factors practitioner since 2002, specializing in human-automation interaction with complex interfaces such as those found in cockpits, air traffic control workstations and surveillance systems. His experience includes analyzing tasks and workflow, designing and implementing human-in-the-loop experiments and applying human-factors design principles to hardware and software to optimize operator effectiveness. He has used his skills to evaluate and improve human-machine interfaces for organizations such as NASA, the FAA, the Air Force, the Army and the NTSB.
Prior to his work in Human Factors, Mr. Clamann spent five years as an information technology consultant designing, developing and deploying custom client-server systems. He has a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology with a minor in Human-Computer Interaction from North Carolina State University and has been a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) since 2000.
