Alex Hussain

Design Engineer

So, what exactly does it mean to be a design engineer at HumanCentric? Well, for me, it means finding harmony between the worlds of design, human factors, and engineering to create products that strike a balance of aesthetics, user needs and technical requirements. In my short time on this earth, I have found that these disciplines are all too often forced into competing silos, which almost always result in products that are lacking the magic that makes a product something more than just the sum of its parts. Since joining HumanCentric, I have had the pleasure of working with our multidisciplinary teams on projects ranging from lawn mowers and soap dispensers to medical devices and cellular phones for some of the world's most successful brands.

Before joining HumanCentric, I worked as a Mechanical Engineer at a number of medical and design companies in the Boston area through Northeastern University's co-op program. It was my experiences at companies like TDC Medical and Design Continuum that helped me to uncover my true passion for design of products that are functional, simple, and a pleasure to use.
