HumanCentric Kiosk Design Continues to Win Awards

HumanCentric announced today that Source Technologies, a leading provider of financial transaction and secure business process solutions, was honored as a KioskCom 2008 Self Service Excellence Award Finalist in the Best Financial Services Deployment category for the Alltel Billpay Kiosk. Source Technologies worked with the HumanCentric Human Factors, Industrial and Graphic Design teams on their Concourse (tm) banking kiosks and software which enable bank customers to perform several banking tasks that were formerly executed by the teller. The teams from HumanCentric and Source Technologies designed the self-service platform for branch-banking and bill pay industry kiosks so that customers set up their own transactions in order to save time and reduce waiting.

HumanCentric's team of Industrial and Graphic Designers and Human Factors Specialists began the project by identifying the key components and requirements of the device. By developing user scenarios, the team was able to identify potential problems with the kiosk prior to finalizing the design. HumanCentric's designers worked around the existing internal components and focused on creating a workable and highly appealing concept.

HumanCentric Industrial Designer and project team member, Rebecca Pezdek, said: "Source Technologies truly knows how to make the most of their kiosks. Our team dove right in to solving all of the various kiosk configuration requirements while still remaining focused on the visual appeal of the design. Each kiosk had its own unique components and modularity needs yet all of the designs had to have a common design language. There was also the added opportunity to explore how various companies could customize their kiosks through branding and signage. This branding ability has allowed Source Technology kiosks to integrate seamlessly into all of their clients' environments."

The Concourse (tm) kiosk design has also been awarded the 2006 Self Service Excellence Silver Award Winner in the Financial kiosk category for the Cox Communications Xpress Pay Kiosk and has been named as the 2005 Kiosk Awards Winner in the Best Financial Kiosk and Readers Choice Award for the Express Bill Payment Kiosk for Verizon Wireless.
